There are three ways to order samples and experience Earthaus colors and finishes before committing to a full project: Handmade Sample Boards, Sample Kits, and Custom Color Samples. We strongly recommend sampling before purchasing — digital screens cannot accurately represent how mineral pigments look in a lime finish.
Handmade Sample Boards
Handmade Sample Boards are 6" × 6" samples crafted on ceramic tiles in your chosen color and finish combination. They show the actual texture, sheen, and color of the finished plaster.
Available finishes:
Plaster Sample Boards (6" × 6") are $25 each. Limewash and Lime Slurry Sample Cards (5" × 7") are $10 each. All are made to order — please allow up to 10 business days for production before shipping.
You can order a sample board in any color from the 54-color Plaster Palette or the 43-color Limewash Palette.
Sample Kits
Sample Kits are pre-tinted, project-sized material kits that let you practice applying an Earthaus finish hands-on. They include a small quantity of plaster material and pigment so you can experience the mixing, application, and finishing process yourself.

Custom Color Samples
If none of the standard palette colors are right for your project, Earthaus can formulate a Custom Color matched to a Sherwin Williams paint color. Each Custom Color order includes a 6" × 6" handmade sample board in your chosen finish.
Custom Colors are available for plaster finishes only — not available for Limewash or Lime Slurry. See "Can I Get a Custom Color?" for full details.
Sample Boards vs. Sample Kits — Which Should I Order?
Order a Sample Board if you want to see the finished color and texture of a specific finish without doing any application yourself. Ideal for comparing colors side by side and evaluating under your room's lighting.
Order a Sample Kit if you want hands-on experience with the material — mixing, applying, and finishing. Ideal for DIYers evaluating whether they can handle the application, or professionals trying a new Earthaus finish for the first time.
Order both if you want to compare a handmade professional sample against your own application.
Tips for Evaluating Samples
View samples in the actual room where the plaster will be installed.
Check the sample at different times of day — lighting changes dramatically affect how mineral pigment colors appear.
Place the sample against your surrounding materials (countertops, cabinetry, flooring, tile) to see how it interacts.

Handmade Sample Boards and Custom Color Samples require up to 10 business days for production before shipping. Sample Kits and the Fan Deck ship from Duluth, Minnesota within standard processing times.
