Do I Have to Apply Olive Oil Soap Sealer to Marble Finish?

Olive Oil Soap Sealer on Marble Finish is optional in dry areas but strongly recommended in wet, high-humidity, or high-traffic spaces.

The standard Earthaus Marble Finish is sealed with Olive Oil Soap Sealer, which enhances color depth, surface sheen, and water resistance. However, sealing is optional depending on the desired look and performance level.

Purpose of the Olive Oil Soap Sealer

The Olive Oil Soap Sealer is used to create a softly polished, semi-sealed surface on Marble Plaster. It enhances color saturation, deepens tonal richness, and provides a degree of water and stain resistance.

Benefits:

  • Increases surface sheen

  • Deepens and enriches color

  • Provides moderate water resistance for dry areas

  • Protects against light staining

When Sealing Is Optional

Dry areas: In low-humidity, dry-area applications (such as feature walls or living room accents), the Olive Oil Soap Sealer is optional. The burnished Marble Plaster surface is durable and complete without sealing.

Aesthetic preference: If a more matte, natural appearance is desired, omitting the sealer preserves the unburnished texture.

When Sealing Is Recommended

Wet or high-humidity areas: For applications near sinks, in bathrooms, or in other areas exposed to moisture, applying the Olive Oil Soap Sealer is strongly recommended to provide water resistance.

High-traffic areas: Sealing helps protect the surface from abrasion, fingerprints, and minor staining in frequently touched areas.
